about

Camp X was the unofficial name of a Second World War paramilitary and commando training installation, on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario between Whitby and Oshawa in Ontario, Canada. It was created by Winnipeg-born spymaster Sir William Stephenson. Well-known trainees may have included Ian Fleming, later famous for his James Bond books, though there is evidence against this claim. The character of James Bond was supposedly based on Sir William Stephenson and what Fleming learned from him. Children's writer Roald Dahl and British screenwriter Paul Dehn also trained at the camp.

[I shamelessly copied all of the above info from Wikipedia :P )

The main, big riff on the 12 string just SOUNDED like it ought to be a spy song! All guitar tracks were played on my Simon & Patrick 12 string, except for the electric slide guitar parts, for which I used my Ibanez (played lap style ... not something I've done before!).

about

Deaf Steever Winnipeg, Manitoba

I try to come up with ideas and riffs that catch my ear, and then I piece 'em together until something (hopefully) slightly catchy and coherent emerges. I reckon that sums up my approach to songwriting. :-)

"Well, sir, I just make it sound like I think it ought to." - Mississippi John Hurt, when asked how he created his songs.

Cheers from Winnipeg, Canada, y'all! Go, Jets, go!!!
