Back in 1929, old-timey miner and lyricist Fuzzy wrote some words for his co-worker Steever (who was hard of hearing). Steever put the words to music. The song was recorded and released on the Paramount label but went nowhere and was quickly forgotten. Miraculously, in February of 2020, the only known copy of this rare 78 record was found in the attic of a long abandoned farm house in Manitoba, Canada. Just in time for FAWM! According to blues scholars, this is the only extant Deaf Steever/Fuzzy recording

And got out of bed
Slipped on the floor
And I fell and busted my head.

I went to the doctor
He told me to wait
I said, “My head's busted open!”
He said, “You showed up too late.”

I went back to my bedroom
And turned on the light
There were brains leaking all over
It was such a terrible sight.

Grabbed my coat and hat
And ran for the door
There was no time to lose
My head was really sore.

Went back to the doctor's
It was quiet as a tomb
He was out playing golf
So I torched his waiting room.

Head busted open blues.
